Unless you live under a mossy rock with Muffin stump Chesterfields you'll have noticed that theres a pile of new GDs (Gallery Directors).
Well, ^GH-MoNGo and I are the two new Gallery Directors for Cartoons and Comics.
I'm a fairly easy going ... character I don't like things to be too serious (unless it's a cool comic), so you'll notice I throw in random goofy things to lighten the mood.


I (and ^GH-MoNGo ) accept DD suggestions for Cartoons and Comics only. Not Fanart.
If you look to the area next to my journal, you'll notice some boxes called modules, theres one listing all the Gallery Directors, those are the people to suggest Daily Deviations to.
Theres another box where you can find a list of all the newsletters and AR updates I've posted.
So watch the news and my journals. I'll always keep you up to date on everything I do and the status of everything in the works.

I've even already finished some of my plans, so heres the skinny.

Done Issues
There was a little confusion in the submission process as there was no "Pages" section to submit to. Well, actually there was, but it was labeled as "Single panels". It didn't make sense, so the first thing I did was bounce over to $Moonbeam13 in my mushroom cap pogo ball and request that this injustice be dealt with.
A little while later over the can and string phone, I got a reply saying it shall be done.
You'll notice that that change has already been made and the Pages category is now clearly labeled.

Issues in the Works
There are several gallery descriptions missing for Cartoons and comics, so I've written up a few and getting them put in is in the works.
Hopefully it'll get dealt with soon. These things take time, so you just have to be patient.

Of course Miscats are an ongoing issue. Mainly with Digital in Traditional and Fanart being EVERYWHERE.
I'll repeat what I said before in my newsletter. Images made using Photoshop, painter, GIMP, MSpaint, or any other computer program is DIGITAL. Anything done on a computer is digital.
Also, just because you inked the image traditionally doesn't mean it belongs in traditional. Once you've taken that inked drawing and coloured it in Photoshop (or another program) it becomes a digital piece as the colouring is now the main noticeable part of the deviation.
Just like if you inked on the computer, printed it out and watercoloured it. That image would be traditional.
Think of the browsers when you post your work! If someone is searching DA for Traditional work they DON'T want to see Photoshopped work. If they want to see digitally coloured work they will look in digital.

As for fanart, there is a Fanart Main Category now, so Fanart needs to be submitted there and not into C&C now. Any art using or based on pre-exising comic characters or character done in comic form need to be posted in Fanart. It doesn't matter if you work for Marvel or DC, DC/ Marvel and other characters owned by companies belongs in Fanart. Your place of employment has nothing to do with where your art is posted!
Fanart also has it's Own Gallery Director ( ^animator) who will give DD's and take care of all your fanart needs.
This may shock you to hear but the majority of miscats in comics for fanart is with professional Deviants who work for DC and other comics companies. Entire galleries of 100's of deviations. It's been quite exhausting to deal with.
So if you know a professional deviant on DA please inform them and ask them to move their work over to Fanart to help clear out the galleries.

You can help with miscats by reporting them using the "report policy violation" link that appear in the box where the favs and comments are counted. It would REALLY be appreciated and it helps us out a lot.
